It wasn’t easy beating [Kerry] Greene – but Chris Hurt did it, and he’s back to defend.

Will someone screw things up for me because I’m at the gym?

Geez, I hope not – particularly with these scores.

To steal a correct response from tonight’s game: Wow! Alex made two solid Daily Double wagers and he’s reaping the benefits here, with the game in hand.

In fact, I have to apologize. There were points when I assumed – probably because I was on the treadmill and not really able to focus on facial expressions and such – that Alex was just stalling.

I texted a few people before Final to see what they thought, and they set me straight. Dude was nervous as hell! Once he had the game locked up in Final, he was content to just wager zero, breathe for 30 seconds, and not worry about thinking.

Huge props to Alex for overcoming the nerves and doing what he had to do to put the game away early.

It could have been worse:

And for all of the people tweeting about how Alex was probably stoned during this episode: unless he snuck a brownie in with him, no way he could stay high for an entire tape day. #science
