Our Canadian challenger has a lock heading into Final, but the real story is between second and third. What should each do?

Matthew can wager zero and call it a day, or up to 1,200 if he desires to put some cash at risk.
Tiffany should wager 8,200 to tie Betsy’s all-in wager. Remember: you don’t win anything extra with a higher score in second place, only the $2,000 consolation prize (twice as much as the $1,000 third-place prize). There’s no point in wagering a dollar more than needed.
Betsy wants to stay above (not tie!) an incorrect wager by Tiffany, so she should put at most 6,599 at risk. To cover an “unsafe” wager by Tiffany, Betsy should also put up at least 3,201.
