The F1 engine regulations are about cost containment and efficiency, not “safety efforts.”
Furthermore, F1 engines in fact are turbocharged – a form of supercharging. A supercharger gets its power from the crankshaft whereas the turbocharger gets its from exhaust gases.
If you’re going to count a successful Daily Double question as only the nominal value of the square, why not subtract that nominal value (rather than zero) for a wrong question, as you do for all non-Daily-Double answers?
You can do that at home, but it doesn’t make sense to penalize contestants who were forced to take a guess.
