Last night, we saw a new force emerge on the Jeopardy! stage. How will The Dark Lord fare in the first defense of his reign?
He’s absolutely crushing it.

Dark Lord Harris-Fain |
Kyle Stephens |
Kathryn Tesar |
| 30,400 | 9,000 | 600 |
The Dark Lord got all three Daily Doubles, but only netted $5,200 on them, meaning his Coryat score was 25,200 – very, very high. When Arthur Chu won $58,200, his Coryat was 27,200.
Like last night, we have another “double lock” – no player can improve his situation with proper wagering. Fortunately for my blood pressure, there was no late Daily Double.
Our champ can risk up to $12,399 on his knowledge of this category:
| MEDITERRANEAN ISLANDS |
Given his clear discomfort with another geography category last night, I was surprised he wagered anything here.
What actually happened

| 25,800 | 9,512 | 600 | |||
| min | max | min | max | ||
| 12,399 | 7,800 | ||||
Our champ has now won 2 games and $47,800 – and he’ll be back tomorrow for a crack at a third victory to wrap up the week.
In the photo at top, that’s my parents’ miniature pinscher-pug mix, Kermit, who does not get as excited about Jeopardy! as we do. (He’s sitting on my father’s lap.)
The Final Jeopardy! clue
