I watched some of Thursday’s episode outside of ABC studios in Manhattan – good thing, too, because my DVR (again) failed to record it.

Can’t say the same about 500 Questions – and apparently Time Warner Cable doesn’t play nice with ABC (surprise!), so unless someone sends me a link to a video (hint hint!), I’ll have to wait a whole week to see it.

Once again, Buzzy’s got this locked up, so I don’t feel compelled to put together a video if I’m not going to play along with Final. (I got it – we French speakers have had a multitude of advantages this week.)
Here’s a Vanity Fair interview with Buzzy.
What actually happened
| Buzzy | Riley | Dan | |||
| 16,800 | 2,200 | 7,600 | |||
| 0 | 2,199 | 2,400 | |||
| 16,800 | 1 | 5,200 | |||
| min | max | ||||
| 1,599 | |||||
I heard Riley was quite emotional in the credits, and Alex took special care to make her feel better, in part by holding her hand. I feel for her – it’s a tough show, and you never quite know how you’ll react once your dream of being on Jeopardy! has come to an end (particularly after just one game).
Buzzy has now won 9 games and $164,603, which ties him with Jason Keller and Dan Pawson for #6 all time in the win column.

Hey Keith I’m a big fan of The Final Wager. I too missed 500 questions. After a bit of searching I found it on YouTube, video is still up…for now. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-c2tswXVZm8
I didn’t realize it was such a bad quality recording when I posted that.
Saw part of this re Buzzy’s shtick on Final Jeopardy question on Good Morning America today – here’s the whole thing. Fun stuff, my opinion.

Put me into the “fan of Buzzy” category. I’m definitely impressed by his skill at the game and I am fine with his “personality” segments, the interview, the introductory ritual, and the “Trebek” answers on FJ.
I hope that Mr. Trebek is ok with the mild joshing. He knows that a little controversy is healthy for the ratings. I don’t think anything Buzzy has done is nasty or more than the tiniest bit out of line. I’ve seen Mr. Trebek in some other venues, particularly being interviewed by Howard Stern. It is important to everybody that on the show he does his job well and doing that requires him to come off as pretty stiff. But in these other venues he comes off as a much more of a fun guy.
And is it just me? With his retro glasses, thick neck, and square head Buzzy reminds me of Clark Kent. And here I am thinking of the ’50s TV show Clark Kent.
