Note to future players: please don’t make me think hard on a Monday.
Another night, another late Daily Double opportunity for our champ, Natalie Lips. (Hey, if Alex insists on saying her last name, I do, too!)

We had long ago heard the “less-than-a-minute” warning, so there is at most one clue left in the round. How can Natalie maximize her chances of winning?
Two ways. The first: study Alex Jacob.
We did see one more clue, and Gordon nabbed it to break the lock. Still a simple analysis.

With two recent games where there was an “antepenultimate” wager where the leader had a crush at the time of the wager, I’ve discovered a quick way to save time and tell which of the two factors to consider is greater (so you need to calculate only one) in cases of a true (no clues likely to be played afterwards) penultimate wager:
If third has less than half of second then the “1.5 times 2nd” factor (preserving a crush) is greater.
If third has more than half of second then a double-up from 3rd (preserving the lock against that player) is greater.
If exactly half then the factors are the same.
