I was at a wedding on Friday night, and would have loved to do my recap in a bow tie – but there was nothing I wanted more than sleep when I got home.

Our returning champion, Natalie, has a late Daily Double and a near-lock to work with. What should she do?

ANTEPENULTIMATE WAGER
LAND IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM, $1600

Natalie

Lips

Eric

Matheis

Tina

Uihlein

20,700 10,400 6,600
One clue remaining: $1200

Natalie wagered $2,000, responded correctly, and was greeted by the “time’s up!” sound effect.

Lucky her – had we seen that last clue, Eric might have broken her lock and put her game in, well, jeopardy.

Here’s what I think she should have done – and how she could have been put in a legitimate quandary.

What actually happened

Natalie Eric Tina
22,700 10,400 6,600
500 2,800 2,000
23,200 13,200 8,600
min max min
1,899 2,800 3,801
1,001

Natalie has now won 2 games and $36,400.

The Final Jeopardy! clue
