Daily analysis, October 23 – the three-tiered wagering strategy

Did you know that sometimes a player – usually the player in second – can have more than one “acceptable” range of wagers?

Bill missed two big Daily Doubles yet still has the lead going into Final. With a few better-placed DD wagers, he could be a force.

Bill Tolany: 12,000
Nina Emkin: 3,800
Emily Wood: 8,800

Nina needs to wager at least 2,600 to get in contention, assuming a rational wager by Bill. Anything less is a sign she’s given up – and that’s what apparently happened!

For those of you who play golf, this is like leaving the putt far too short of the hole.

Emily has three acceptable ranges of wagers here: 0-1,200; 3,200-5,000; and 5,200-7,600. I’ll show you how to find all three. (The green slides are at the “advanced” level.)
