For some reason, ABC 7 thought a Pope-led Mass was more important than Jeopardy!, so it took me a bit until I found a, uh, bootleg copy of the game.

Thanks to a few JBoard posters for pointing out that Matt, our rightmost player tonight, is an established Quiz Bowl player.

Dylan

Parson

Laura

Varriale

Matt

Jackson

8,600 7,800 20,600

He’s got it locked up – Dylan looked like he was trying to lose with that lowball Daily Double wager toward the end of Double Jeopardy!. He’d still be in contention with a True Daily Double.

Dylan and Laura are so close that Dylan should go either big or small, and Laura should stay in the middle.

What actually happened

Dylan Laura Matt
8,600 7,800 20,600
8,598 7,388 600
17,198 412 21,200
min max min max min max
7,000 1,601 6,199 3,399

The Final Jeopardy! clue

EUROPEAN GEOGRAPHY
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SAYS THE SITE OF THIS CITY IS “THE LARGEST WETLAND IN THE MEDITERRANEAN”
What is Venice?
I thought of that answer first and rejected it as unfair. Venice is not on land at all.

    My answer would be Cairo.

VERY misleading. I was going to guess the obvious…Venice…but realized that Venice isn’t on the Mediterranean. It is part of the Adriatic Sea. So, how come Venice was correct? Some have said “because the Adriatic is PART of the Mediterranean.” Whatever. It was still misleading because MOST people would not have associated Venice with the Mediterranean (at least those that know their geography…like me). LOL
