Daily analysis, October 24 – Bill looks to make the TOC
I use a lot of colors to show what I think of wagers. Is there room for one more?![]()
Three-time champ Bill’s got a slim lead going into Final. Rebecca, with proper wagering, is out of contention. Alas …
Bill Tolany: 13,800
Rebecca Anderson: 3,400
Mike Shapiro: 12,300
Mike should wager at least 3,000 (in case Bill wagers small, to force Mike to get it right) and no more than 5,500, so that Rebecca doesn’t win. His actual wager of 8,899 (staying above Rebecca’s pre-Final total) unnecessarily puts him at risk against her.
You win money by playing more games – not by wagering too much on one FJ! That’s like strangling the goose that laid the golden egg. Maybe it will lay a bigger egg but you might kill it for no reason.
Had Rebecca responded correctly, she would have won – an improbable, yet all-too-common occurrence of a “dead” player coming back to life thanks to over-aggressive wagering by another.
