It’s been a while since we’ve discussed Alex’s retirement – and on tonight’s video, I have some thoughts on his successor.
I also have some thoughts on Bianca’s late Daily Double wager – I didn’t like it. I would have preferred a True Daily Double, but would have begrudgingly accepted something between 201 and 799.
Play for the win, not for second!

Tonight’s Final Jeopardy! category is:
| DOG BREEDS |
Bianca’s small wager could be Jon’s gain, as he is in contention without being pushed out by a Shoretegic situation. It’s a long shot, but you never know!
First-order calculations
Both Bianca and Jon should go all-in. That’s about it!

| 19,600 | 12,600 | 8,400 | |||
| 5,601 | 7,001 | 8,399 | |||

| 5,601 | 6,999 | 12,600 | 8,400 | ||

In hindsight, I bet Alex is also sad that Bianca didn’t go for broke on her Daily Double – he would probably be the champ with $38,401!
In any event, he has now won 2 games and $40,301, and can reach the leaderboard tomorrow..
The Final Jeopardy! clue
| DOG BREEDS |
| THIS SMALL BREED IS NAMED FOR A MEMBER OF THE 17th CENTURY HOUSE OF STUART |

Will we get one more fact primer before the new year? Maybe something geographic. Mountain ranges or lakes of Europe and Asia? Just a thought. Keep up the excellent work Keith. I have a lot of people in Auburn, AL following your analysis.
Although I too responded with “Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,” I learned last night that the Cavalier King Charles is actually a separate breed (as recognized by the AKC) from the King Charles.
When you were at the Explorers Club, I hope you got to see the trophy room.
