We saw a stellar performance last night. How will our challengers fare against our new champ?

Wow – another great game. Look at how close these scores are!

Andrew

Pau

McKinnie

Lee Sizemore

16,000 16,600 16,200

Tonight’s Final Jeopardy! category is:

CONTEMPORARY WOMEN AUTHORS

My job is easy tonight… everyone should just assume Margaret will get it right and go big.

399 199

I understand Margaret’s wager… it’s her ideal category! But sometimes things don’t go as planned, and she would have been much better served holding back 800, just in case.

Superb comeback by Andrew in the second round. He’ll get a few days to rest, and we’ll see if he can win again on Monday!

Have a great weekend, and be sure to get those tax returns in.

Apropos your Frankenstein remark, there is another famous but not quite as famous example of this kind of identity shift in literature. The thin man in “The Thin Man” is not Nick Charles. It’s the missing man that everyone is looking for. That was true in both the Hammett book and the first movie in what became a series of six movies. But it didn’t matter. Nick Charles, retired private detective and husband of Nora, quickly became firmly associated with the title of “The Thin Man” in pretty much everyone’s mind.

  2. Best game of the season. Too bad Margaret ran into such tough competition. I really thought she was one of the better contestants we’ve seen all year. Oh well. Now she can get back to petting cats and knitting, and hopefully Andrew can go on a run.

What do you think?
