Final Jeopardy! wagering analysis:
Wednesday, March 16, 2016

previous week same week following week
7 8 9 10 11 14 15 16 17 18 21 22 23 24 25

We’ll see if Philip’s “guns blazing” approach continues to work for him… or if tonight’s opponents will find the Daily Doubles first.

I’m sad we didn’t get to see that last Daily Double. What would have happened?

Philip

Tiu (2x)

Geoff

Mitelman

Elena

Gray-Blanc

23,800 11,000 1,200

What actually happened

Philip Geoff Elena
23,800 11,000 1,200
1,700 0 1,199
25,500 11,000 2,399
min max
1,799

It almost certainly wouldn’t have mattered, since Philip got final and Geoff did not.

Philip has now won 3 games and $96,598.

The Final Jeopardy! clue

  1. I missed the interview part. Who said what that was not a good idea to disagree w/Alex?
    Thanks in advance.

I assume he’s referring to Elena who didn’t like Wuthering Heights but it’s Alex’s favorite book.

Don’t you think he was just messing with her? Hard to imagine that it’s really his favorite book!

Was Philip purposely slowing down the game toward the end?

Actually the last DD could have made a difference. If Philip got it too he would no doubt have bet big (if yesterday was any indication), if he got it wrong he could have fell to a place where he couldn’t catch up to Geoff even with a correct. I’d like to think he wouldn’t Clavin his DD, but stranger things have happened.

What do you think?
