It’s gonna get cold again tonight. (Am I talking about the temperature or my analysis?)
Once again, the returning champion struggled tonight. Unlike our champs the last two games, however, she’s still in contention.

Had Sam gotten that 1,200 clue instead of Christina, he would have had exactly double Diana’s score. And had we seen the 2,000 clue, and were Sam to have nabbed it, he would have had exactly double Christina’s score.
Either way, could have been really interesting with this Final Jeopardy! category:

Straightforward, once again.
To cover Christina, Sam will need to wager 2,000.

He’ll still have more than either of his opponents if he’s wrong, so both should go all-in.

What actually happened
Poor Sam: it always sucks to come up against an uncomfortable category with a sizable lead.
And, I must say: poor you, too, if you took one of my mnemonics from last week’s Fact Primer too literally. I’ve fixed it; that’ll teach me to rush things.
Christina’s back tomorrow for her third game. We haven’t had a three-time winner since John Schultz lost on January 15. (Granted, we did have a tournament in between.)
