Daily analysis, Wednesday, June 25

We’ve seen some good Final Wagers so far this week (although not so great on the Penultimate). Video will be up by 8:30 p.m. EDT.

The Final Wager - June 25, 2014

Easy situation for me! Both second and third need to respond correctly to have a shot.

Jennifer Blanton: 12,400
Jesse Yu: 6,000
Alana Norton: 8,000

The Final Jeopardy! category: WORLD LEADERS

Here’s what each player should do.

Basic strategy – first vs. second

Jennifer should wager 3,600.

Alana and Jesse should wager everything, since they each must respond correctly to have a chance against Jennifer.

Mind games

It’s possible Jennifer might wager up to 400 to stay above Jesse.

If so, Alana should wager 4,800 at a minimum. No reason not to go for it all, though!

What actually happened

The Final Jeopardy! clue for June 25, 2014 (WORLD LEADERS):

SINCE 1953, 5 CONSECUTIVE SIBLINGS HAVE BEEN THIS COUNTRY’S HEAD OF STATE

Correct response: Show

  1. Thanks for vindicating my wager. Did my best, as it was a category I thought I knew enough about, and took a chance, but it didn’t pay off. Oh well, I had fun and $1k isn’t chump change.

    • Thanks for coming by, Jesse! It was a tough clue, but you did what you had to do — and I’m sure you had a great experience.

What do you think?
