Daily analysis, Friday, March 21

It’s been a long week here at The Final Wager. Enjoy this video of a carousel while I fix myself a drink. The Final Wager - March 21, 2014

OK, now let’s look at today’s analysis.

Hey! We could have a repeat champ today! Will Diane hold on?

Diane Levinson: 14,000
Lindsay Wilson: 9,800
Joe Morse: 12,200

The Final Jeopardy! category: CURRENT REALITY TV

For the fourth game this week, we have a complicated situation. Let’s start with the regular wagers.

Diane should wager 10,400 to control her own destiny.

Joe should wager 7,400 to lock out Lindsay, but no more than 8,600 so as not to fall below Diane.

Lindsay should wager no more than 5,000 (so as not to fall below Joe) but at least 4,800 (to cover an unsafe wager by Joe).

Usually I can shoot, edit, and upload my videos in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I’ve devoted far too much time since Arthur Chu was dethroned.

Assuming other players wager rationally…

Diane could wager 6,800 to cover Joe.

Joe could wager 2,600 to cover Lindsay – but he’ll need to cap that at 5,000 just in case Diane goes for the alternative wager. If he thinks Diane might not try to lock him out, he could go for broke.

Lindsay could consider wagering between 0 and 200 to stay above Joe’s alternative wager.

Hey! A new champion, and some bad wagers. Have a great weekend, everyone!

ON LEARNING WHAT HIS SERIES WOULD BE CALLED, THE STAR OF THIS REALITY SHOW SAID, “THAT SOUNDS LIKE A CHINESE FOOD PLACE!”

Correct response: What is Duck Dynasty?
