Daily analysis, Friday, January 3

Our week ends. Will it be with a bang?

The Final Wager January 3, 2014

Sarah has a commanding lead in her second appearance, but she probably has to get it right to win.

Sarah Olson: 14,000
Ilissa Gold: 8,400
Lee May: 8,000

Sarah should wager at least 2,800, but if she feels comfortable with the category, she can go for up to 5,600 to pad her victory.

Both Ilissa and Lee must respond correctly and wager enough to have a shot. Ilissa, to lock out Lee, should go for at least 7,600 – but there’s no harm in going all-out, perhaps on the off-chance Sarah wagers for the tie.

Lee, on the other hand, likely gains no additional possibilities of winning by wagering everything, but he can secure second place for himself by wagering no more than 7,199.

When getting it wrong makes it impossible for you to win, I’m fine with you going for more than is minimally necessary. I don’t like how Ilissa withheld a dollar, though.
